Cancer Season Lessons
As I’m writing this, we are just over a week into Cancer season, and we experienced the New Moon in Cancer a couple of days ago. We’ve got about another 3 weeks to go of this soulful, emotional energy.
In my first year of deep astrological studies, this is the first time I’m intensely recognizing the energetic shift as the Sun makes its way through Cancer. And it’s hit me haaaarrrd! Perhaps because my Rising sign is in Cancer — the Cancer energy is what my soul aligned with upon entering the world, so that Cancerian vibration is very familiar. Or perhaps I felt it deeply because my Cancer starts in the 12th House of rest, retreat, and transcendence. {I felt like doing absolutely NOTHING on June 21st.}
Whatever the reason, I know I’m not the only one who is feeling these energetic shifts in some way, shape, or form. Most people I’ve talked to recently are feeling it, too. Are you?
Cancer is the sign of the crab. 🦀 And like the crab, you may find yourself being protective and in your shell; you may be more cautious before approaching situations. You may snap when pushed too far.
Being a water sign, emotions could be surfacing more easily. 😭
Cancer is also known as a nurturer and is akin to Divine Mother. As a mom and Cancer Rising, I find this and the emotions happening on almost a daily basis.
So, how do you navigate these waters???
This is a time that it’s important for us to nurture ourselves — to be our own Divine Mother; To nurture our inner child; To tune in — Cancer is ruled by the Moon, so is also connected to intuition — listen, and find out what your inner child needs. What is triggering her? Can you find a way to comfort her? Or create with her?
Whatever you do, find a way to symbolically give her a hug and know that she is infinitely loved, seen, and heard.
The seasons offer us a time to learn, heal, and grow. Rather than resisting, we’ll more easily be able to accomplish what we set our sights on if we connect to and flow with the energy at hand.
We can heal during this time of Cancer. Just as a crab outgrows its shell, so do we. And it’s in the breaking of that protective barrier that we grow, too.
How has this Cancer season been treating you? What lessons can you take from it? Fill me in in the comments below!
